Pastor Jim was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee.  After graduating from Belhaven University in Jackson in 1977, Ms he attended Reformed Theological Seminary and graduated in 1980.  He was immediately called to serve as the Associate Pastor for the Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church from 1980-1991.  He and his wife Kristen welcomed four children during their years atop the Mountain.  In 1991 he was called to serve as the organizing pastor for Covenant Presbyterian Church here in Nashville.  Three years into his tenure the Lord blessed him and Kristen with their fifth child.  Under his leadership the church grew from 38 members to more than 2200 and started an elementary school.  In 2016 Jim was asked to lead a new congregation, Stephens Valley Church.   Four years after assuming leadership Jim led Stephens Valley in the construction of its current facility where the church has enjoyed steady growth. Jim enjoys his family, golf, tennis, snow skiing, music, reading, and dogs.
